Become a Road Safety Hero for Road Safety Week 2024

As we approach Road Safety Week, set for 20-26 May 2024, it’s a perfect time for us at TMNZ to reflect on the importance of road safety and encourage everyone to participate actively in making our roads safer. This year's theme, "Be a Road Safety Hero," honours every individual contributing to road safety and provides insights on how each of us can play a vital role.

Recognising Our Heroes

Road Safety Week 2024 is about acknowledging the unsung heroes who make our roads safer—emergency services personnel, health professionals, transport engineers, school crossing patrols, road workers, and community campaigners. This year’s theme is not only a celebration but a call to action for everyone using the roads to take responsibility for their actions and their impact on the safety of others.

TMNZ's Commitment to Road Safety

For more than two decades, TMNZ has been at the forefront of delivering comprehensive temporary traffic management services across multiple industries such as maintenance, construction, utilities, and events. With a dedicated team of over 650 staff, many of whom are actively engaged in traffic management roles on the roads, ensuring their safety, as well as that of the general public, remains our mission.

Aligning with New Zealand’s Road to Zero Strategy

This year’s theme aligns closely with New Zealand’s road safety strategy, Road to Zero, which envisions zero deaths on our roads. It emphasises that achieving this goal requires a collective effort from every one of us.

Whether you're behind the wheel, on a bike, or crossing the street, your actions can lead to safer journeys for everyone. Get involved, spread the word, and take action. Every small change contributes to a safer future and a journey towards zero road fatalities.
