Specific rules govern the requirement for Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) where there is likely to be an interruption to the road corridor. Waka Kotahi (NZTA) issues and manages the application of these rules.
Similarly, rules extend to the design of Temporary Barrier systems and layouts, spanning concrete, steel, plastic and water-filled barriers, with planners requiring an additional set of accreditations to undertake this specialty.
TMNZ has an extensive planning team, whose members are each accredited with Waka Kotahi (NZTA) Temporary Traffic Management Planner Qualifications. They are able to communicate with you what the rules require as they pertain to your works and assemble the plan to ensure those works are safe and compliant.
TMPs are upstream of works, requiring time for development and approval. TMNZ has assembled its team and processes to be able to turnaround TMPs in the fastest times possible, providing you more flexibility in how you program your works.
