Celebrating the First Life Members of TMNZ
TMNZ is proud to announce the introduction of Life Membership, a prestigious honour recognising the exceptional service and dedication of our long-serving staff. This initiative marks a significant milestone for TMNZ and sets a new standard within our industry.
We are proud to acknowledge Brenda, Dean, and Chris as the first recipients of this esteemed recognition. Each of these individuals has dedicated over 15 years of service to TMNZ, demonstrating commitment and contributing significantly to our success. Their retirement or announced retirement has provided us with the perfect opportunity to celebrate their remarkable careers.
L to R: Dean Kebbell, Brenda Kebbell, Chris England
Brenda Kebbell, one of the founders of TMNZ, has been a cornerstone of the company for 23 years. Throughout her tenure, she has worn many hats, including Director, HR and Payroll Manager, and Accounts Manager. Brenda’s multifaceted role has been instrumental in shaping the company’s culture and operational efficiency. Her commitment and leadership have been pivotal in TMNZ’s growth and success. Reflecting on her journey, Brenda says, "From the beginning in 2001 saying ‘let’s give this a go’ to 2023 and saying ‘it’s time to go’ has been a roller coaster of emotions. I am immensely proud of what Dean, and I have achieved over this time. We never thought TMNZ would become the huge successful business it is today. I get a buzz seeing our trucks on the roads keeping people safe."
Dean Kebbell, also a founder of TMNZ, has been with the company for 24 years. With a background as a Traffic Controller and Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS), Dean has played a crucial role in the operational side of the business. His expertise in training has further strengthened TMNZ’s workforce. Dean’s vision and dedication have been integral to the company’s development and achievements over the years. Reflecting on his experiences, Dean remarks, "Being the founder of TMNZ has been the highlight of my working career. Over the 24 years that we have been involved in both the industry and TMNZ, I have had the privilege of working with some amazing people, some of whom are still at TMNZ and others that are scattered around the industry today."
Chris England has dedicated over 15 years to TMNZ, beginning his journey as a Traffic Controller before progressing to the position of Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS). His passion for training led him to head the training team, eventually becoming the full-time Training & H&S Manager. In recent years, he has served as the dedicated HSEQ Manager for New Zealand, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environment, and quality across the organisation. His leadership and dedication have left an incredible mark on TMNZ. Reflecting on his time at TMNZ, Chris says, “During my many years with TMNZ, I was involved with the standardisation of TTM industry best practice as a TTM trainer and then with the implementation of TMNZ health and safety policies. I am proud to retire knowing that there has not been a single TMNZ employee fatality nationwide in their safety-sensitive industry. This could not have been achieved without teamwork and the support of many wonderful people, especially the TMNZ management team. I am humbled to be recognised with life membership of TMNZ.”
To commemorate their contributions, we have created a special Life Member badge and jacket, symbolising their lasting impact on TMNZ and the wider traffic management community. Life Membership is not awarded lightly; it is reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional, loyal, and outstanding service to our organisation over 15 years or more.
Our Life Members embody the core values that define TMNZ. These values guide our actions, shape our corporate culture, and serve as the foundation of everything we do, with our Life Members embodying the benchmark for future employees to aspire to.
As we celebrate Brenda, Dean, and Chris, we also look forward to the future, inspired by their legacy. Their dedication and service have set a high standard for all of us at TMNZ, and we are committed to upholding these values in our ongoing efforts to lead the traffic management industry in New Zealand.
We wish our Life Members all the best in their new beginnings and thank them for their invaluable contributions to TMNZ. Their legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we move forward.
All the best for your new beginning, team!
