National Road Safety Week 2025

National Road Safety Week (NRSW) 2025 is set to take place from 11–18 May, uniting communities across New Zealand to promote safer roads and remember those affected by road incidents. The week highlights the importance of road safety and encourages all of us to become road safety champions and drive so others survive.

How You Can Get Involved

TMNZ is proud to support NRSW and offer several free resources for individuals and organisations to download and participate in:

  • Add a Banner to Your Email Signature: Show your support by adding the NRSW banner to your email signature.

  • Share on Social Media: Download and post the "Coming Soon" social tiles in early May to raise awareness.

  • Schedule Daily Theme Animations: Each day of NRSW has a specific theme. Share the corresponding animations to promote daily messages.

  • Host a Toolbox Talk: Engage your team in discussions about road safety to reinforce safe practices.

  • Participate in the Colouring Competition: Encourage creativity and awareness among children by participating in our colouring competition.

Take the Pledge

One of the most meaningful ways you can support National Road Safety Week is by making a personal promise to be a safer driver.

This commitment is more than just words—it’s a pledge to:

  • Put your phone away while driving to stay fully focused on the road

  • Stick to the speed limit and drive to the conditions

  • Stay alert and rested, avoiding driving when tired

  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Look out for vulnerable road users like traffic controllers, walkers, cyclists, children, and the elderly, giving them the time and space they need.

By making this promise, you're joining a movement who care about protecting lives on our roads. It’s a small action that speaks volumes—and it helps drive the message that every choice behind the wheel matters.

You can take the pledge online at https://roadsafetyweek.com.au/home/#home/pledge  where you’ll also be able to download a "Drive So Others Survive”  badge to share on social media or add to your email signature. Show your support, inspire others, and be part of the change.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. By taking part in National Road Safety Week, each of us plays a role in building a culture of care, respect, and responsibility on our roads.
